About Hospital

The Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC) is an ophthalmic care provider catering to both local and international patients. Established in 1990, it has since expanded its capacity to perform up to 14,000 major eye surgeries and 13,000 laser procedures annually. The facility offers a comprehensive range of eye treatments covering the entire spectrum of eye conditions.

SNEC specializes in nine subspecialties: Cataract and Comprehensive Ophthalmology, Cornea, Glaucoma, Neuro-Ophthalmology, Oculoplastic and Aesthetic Eyeplastic, Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, Refractive Surgery, Ocular Inflammation and Immunology Service, and Vitro-Retina. Additionally, SNEC actively engages in clinical trials and research for specific eye conditions such as myopia and glaucoma.

To further enhance its services, SNEC underwent an expansion funded by the government at a cost of approximately $50 million. The new extension wing is an eight-story building that houses various facilities, including outpatient clinics, ancillary facilities, five operating theaters, an auditorium, a resource center, research clinics, laboratories, and administrative offices of the Singapore Eye Research Institute.

SNEC is conveniently located at 11 Third Hospital Avenue and can be accessed through its affiliated institutions. It has tie-ups with Changi General Hospital and KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital. Additionally, SNEC operates a branch in Balestier at the Parkway Health Day Surgery and Medical Centre.
