Registered with the Charity Commissioner as a Charitable Trust, Prince Aly Khan Hospital is an acute care, multi-specialty hospital for all communities. It functions within the Aga Khan Development Network, committed to improving health conditions in developing countries.

Constantly expanding, the hospital adds new specialities and facilities for various patients. It caters to local and overseas patients, offering a wide array of services, facilities, and a medical community reputation.

HISTORY

The hospital began in June 1945 as a small, sixteen-bed facility in rented premises, managed by volunteers providing free medical care to Ismalia community members. It grew and moved to larger premises donated by His Royal Highness Prince Aly Khan in 1955. In 1958, services opened to all, professional management was introduced in 1976, and expanded services responded to the growing demand. Today, It has 201 in-patient beds, various specialized medical units, and state-of -the -art facilities. Specialists offer free services in charitable outpatient clinics. Nearly 35,000 patients are seen annually, while 90,000 attend the consultation clinics, for over 125,000 yearly out-patient visits.

With modern ambiance, comfortable accommodation, and emphasis on quality and safety, the hospital earned ISO certification. Prince Aly Khan Hospital has achieved an aggressive growth path to fulfill its mission and vision from six decades ago.
