Dr. Shahin Mohseni, MD, PhD, FEBS (EmSurg), FACS, is a Consultant Trauma and Emergency Surgeon at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC) in Abu Dhabi.Dr. Shahin Mohseni is a prolific academic Trauma and Emergency Surgeon who has held several key positions in the field of Trauma and Emergency Surgery in Europe and Sweden. He is the acting chair of Visceral Trauma of the European Society of Trauma and Emergency Surgery (ESTES), the immediate past Vice-chair of Emergency Surgery in ESTES and an Executive and Advisory Board Member of ESTES.His previous positions include Scientific Secretary of the Swedish Society of Trauma and Emergency Surgery, a board member of the Swedish Trauma Registry (SweTrau), and a board member of the Swedish Surgical Research Committee, all of which he held for more than 6 years prior to joining SSMC. Throughout his career, he has supervised a number of PhD students. He serves on the editorial boards of several surgical journals, including the Journal of European Trauma & Emergency Surgery, Trauma Surgery & Acute Care Open, Journal of Endovascular Resuscitation and Trauma Management (JEVTM), British Journal of Surgery, Annals of Laparoscopic and Endoscopic Surgery, BMC Surgery and Frontiers of Surgery. Dr. Mohseni has over 100 publications in the fields of trauma and emergency surgery and has authored several book chapters.He is also a steering committee member for several international courses such as ESTES/AAST Emergency Surgery Course, Endovascular Resuscitation and Trauma Management (EVTM) and Advanced Bleeding Control Course (ABCC).
