- Dr. Mohanty is an alumnus of SCB Medical College and specializes in obstructive sleep apnea surgery, phonosurgery, advanced otology, cochlear implantation, endoscopic skull base, and head and neck oncosurgery.
- In 1992, he completed his MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) from SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, Odisha.
- He further pursued MS (Master of Surgery) in ENT from MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur, Odisha, graduating in 1997.
- Dr. Mohanty is associated with various medical societies and organizations, including the Association of Otolaryngologists of India, Indian Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, Cochlear Implant Group of India, Endo Skull Base Society of India, Indian Society of Otology, Foundation of Head and Neck Oncology, Rhinology Society of India, and Laryngology and Voice Association of India.
- He has received recognition and awards throughout his career, including a National Travel Fellowship from the Association of Otolaryngologists of India in 1996.
- In 2004, he was awarded certification from the European Board of Otolaryngology.
- Dr. Mohanty also earned the first prize in a Poster Competition at AOICON 2007 in Bhubaneshwar, Odisha.
- In 2017, he secured the first prize in the Competitive Paper Session at CIGICON 2017 in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
