About Doctor

Dr. Karsten Klabe, ophthalmologist and our senior surgeon, specializes in particularly gentle surgical treatments for glaucoma . He was among the first to use microimplants and, in addition to innovative surgical treatments, uses laser therapy (SLT) as an alternative to eye drops. Dr. Klabe has already performed more than 45,000 operations. In 2023 he was included in the stern list of doctors for the specialty of glaucoma treatment. For corneal transplants, he uses the particularly gentle DMEK technique, in which only individual layers of the cornea are transplanted. Dr. Klabe was chief physician of the ophthalmology clinic at Marien Hospital Düsseldorf for ten years until the end of 2014. He has been working with us as an ophthalmologist and senior surgeon since 2015.
