Between 1988 and 1992, Prof. Dr. Alparslan Baksu underwent residency training in obstetrics and gynaecology at the Işli Etfal Training and Research Hospital.

He served as a Chief Assistant at the same hospital from 1993 to 2012. Between 1998 and 2002, he served as the delivery room coordinator at the Işli Etfal Training and Research Hospital, Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinics Center, and between 2004 and 2008, he served as the operating room coordinator there. He served as an observer in 2007 at the Princess Margaret Hospital of the University of Toronto's Department of Gynecological Oncology.
