Siddhartha Gupta, an orthopedic surgeon with around 20 years of experience, is attached to eminent hospitals in Kolkata & Howrah like Peerless Hospital, Bellevue Clinic and Shree Jain Hospital since 2003. His core areas of expertise include trauma surgeries, including minimally invasive fracture treatment & pelvic-acetabular surgeries, hip & knee replacement & spinal surgeries.
He has been a meritorious student of Don Bosco Liluah and Calcutta Boys School. He joined Calcutta Medical College through All India Pre Medical Test after being amongst the top 100 candidates in various All India and WBJEE Pre Medical Examinations in his first attempt in 1991.
After completing MBBS and internship in 1997 he joined MS in Orthopaedics at King Edward VII Medical Hospital & Seth G.S Medical College Mumbai (KEM) after having secured the 29th rank, in first attempt, in the All India Postgraduate Medical Entrance Examinations, held in Jan 1998. The orthopaedic department at KEM Mumbai is known as the "Mecca of orthopedic training" where toppers from all over India pursue their career in orthopedics.
He was awarded the best orthopedic resident & topped his MS-exams in Mumbai University. He was further a topper & gold medalist in FCPS Ortho-exams & secured 2nd rank in his D-Ortho exams conducted by CPS Mumbai for candidates from all over Maharashtra.
After his masters he completed around 2 years of senior residency at KEM in sub-speciality units of spine and joint replacement. Thereafter he completed two fellowships - the Depuy, Johnson & Johnson Fellowship in Knee Replacement in 2003 - 2004 with Dr P K Banerji and Fellowship in Hip Replacement & Reconstruction from Seoul in 2006 with Dr S Y Shon who was the President of the Hip Society of South Korea.
At Peerless Hospital & B. K. Roy Research Center apart from performing surgeries he is a senior faculty for DNB - orthopedic students.
Apart from international publications in indexed journals he has made presentations at many international & national conferences. He has been invited as a faculty for various conferences.
Besides orthopedics his other passions includes travelling and reading.
