His areas of clinical expertise are Adult and Children’s Hand Surgery, Lower Limb Soft Tissue Reconstruction, Peripheral Nerve Surgery and Reconstructive Microsurgery.Dr. Dunn received his UK medical degree (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery MBBS) from the University of London in 1988.Following military medical service in the Royal Navy and Royal Marines, he was awarded the Diploma in the Medical Care of Catastrophe (DMCC) from the Worshipful Society of Apothecaries in 1995. He subsequently became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS) in 1997. Following a Specialist Registrar training rotation in plastic, hand, and reconstructive surgery, he gained the FRCS (Plast) specialist plastic surgery examination in 2002 and was awarded a Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (UK CCST) in 2003. He then undertook two additional Specialist Fellowships in Adult and Children’s Hand and Microsurgery at the world-renowned Ganga Hospital in Coimbatore, India, and St James Hospital in Leeds, UK.He was a Consultant in Plastic, Reconstructive and Hand Surgery at the Odstock Regional Centre for Plastic Surgery and Burns, Salisbury Hospital, the UK from 2005 to 2019. He was also an Honorary Visiting Consultant to the UK Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre between 2008 and 2018 treating patients with war injuries from the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts.He moved to Abu Dhabi in May 2019, initially at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City Hospital before joining SSMC in March 2021.
