Dr Ganesh Kumar is a cardiologist working at Dr L H Hiranandani Hospital as chief of Cardiology since 2004.
After completing medical school & 3 years of post-graduation in Internal Medicine, he completed his post-doctoral super-speciality in cardiology at King Edward Memorial Hospital. He then pursued a 7-year Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at Ramban Medical Centre in Haifa, Israel, followed by basic research in stent technology & robotics for interventional cardiology at Bruce Rapport Israel Institute of Technology.
Upon his return to India, he worked for a year in Vishakhapatnam before joining Dr L H Hiranandani Hospital as consultant in Interventional Cardiology and becoming head of the department.
Dr Kumar's research has been published both nationally and internationally.
His areas of interest include development & use of Robotics in Percutaneous Coronary Interventions; PAMI (Primary Angioplasty in Acute Myocardial Infarction); Complex Coronary Interventions (Use of Rota ablators, IVUS Technology, Multi Vessel angioplasties), among others.
